Surfing. Attempt number 2. @ 1:39 pm

So last month was my birthday, and James and I were driving 2 hours to stay in a little town so I can take him surfing for his first time. We took my car because it's a better luggage/surfboard carrier than his truck

VS.

I was waaaay too pumped, because I haven't been surfing in about 4 months (thanks to friends claiming they love surfing but never actually wanting to go) that I was up at 5 a.m. getting ready for this trip..

about a hour into the drive, we hit this...

...Ok so before I wrote that, I thought I still had the picture of what we hit. well, it was a f-ing SNOW STORM. 6 inches of snow on a highway that can't even fit one car on it. Plus, has ANYONE ever driven a Mazda Protege 5!? It's like a  casket on wheels! A skiff of snow will send you off a cliff pumpiting to your death. We turned around. I'm 20, I'm too young to die. Yes?

ANYWAYS, We're attemping the birthday trip a month late tomorrow morning. Please wish us luck, I may gouge out my own eyes if I still don't get to surf.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
